Trying out Golden Rose Cosmetics - Review & Swatches

A couple of weeks ago Beauty Cosmos in Fgura were so generous and sent me a bunch of their products to try out! I had heard about their brand from another blogger but I have never tried any of their products out so I was really excited to try them out. Although these products were sent to me all opinions are my own and are not biased! Shall we start?!

The first thing I tried is their Stick Foundation. It says on the packaging that it is ''long lasting'' & ''high coverage''. I have to be honest with you, I have never used a stick foundation and to tell you the truth I prefer liquid foundations (even after using this product). The reason being - liquid foundations are much more easy to blend. Until I got the hang of blending this stick foundation it was a bit difficult but I managed to do just fine with a beauty blender (using a brush doesn't really work!). However, you do have to be a bit more patient with blending. The foundation was long lasting but I would classify this as medium coverage rather than high coverage as some of my imperfections were still showing even after I re-applied the product.

The next product I tried was the Colour Correcting Crayon. This is suppose to ''correct dullness'' and neutralizes dull yellowness look. I applied this product under my eyes because that's where I usually have dark areas. You can apply this first thing before the foundation or you can do what I did and apply it after your foundation and then re-apply foundation over it to make sure you cover those dark areas. I really liked this product because it hid all my dark areas plus it also brightened slightly my under-eyes so this product is a YES for me!

Moving on to the Contour Crayon Face Shaping Stick, this is supposed to be ''long-wearing, easy blendable''. I have to disagree with the blendable because (for me at least) it was really difficult to blend the product with my beauty blender and to blend those harsh lines. Then again, I prefer powder contouring as it is much more easier. So for those of you who do not like to experiment with contouring I do suggest you go for powder contouring. For the beauty lovers and for those who love to experiment with new products, I suggest you give this product a try!

I was also sent a Lash Plumping Mascara. It is supposed to create ''intense volume, maximum definition and lift up''. Although it's not my favourite mascara because I like my mascara super black and able to make my lashes really long; with regards to the plumping effect I would definitely give it a 10/10. The large and soft fiber brush lifts up the lashes for maximum definition and I could definitely see the plumping effect.

Wearing the Lash Plumping Mascara and the Matte Liquid Lipstick

Wearing the Lash Plumping Mascara and the Matte Liquid Lipstick
Moving on to the lip products, I first tried the Matte Liquid Lipstick in the shade 23. I LOVED the formula. It's so moisturizing and it dries completely within a couple of minutes. As for the colour, it may be a bit out of your comfort zone because it's an ashy grey (with some plum tones) and I know that not everyone is comfortable with these colours - as for me I am obsessed with this shade!! It's so pretty 💛 And as soon as I wore it I realized that it's a very similar shade to two liquid lipsticks I own by Gerard Cosmetics so I swatched all of them to see that it's almost the colour that is a combination of both shades. If you ask me, it's the perfect dupe - plus the Golden Rose one is not as drying as the Gerard Cosmetics!

The 2nd lip product I tried was the Sheer Shine Stylo Lipstick in the shade 06. This is a very sheer lipstick which is just the right shade of pink and peach with a slight gloss. It might not show that much on my lips but that is why I thought it would be perfect for wearing this shade for work. A subtle shade of pink and a sheer lipstick is the way to go! I wouldn't recommend wearing any matte lipsticks for work so this shade is perfect because its sheer and the colour is very subtle. Plus, the formula is AMAZING - it will keep your lips moisturized for a long time!

The 3rd and final lip product I tried was the Velvet Matte Lipstick in the shade 14. First of all I am OBSESSED with the shade -  it's like a combination of a deep red and burgundy. The product glides so smoothly on your lips and has a really nice matte finish. Despite having a matte finish, it does not dry your lips AT ALL. You know I love my ColourPop products but sometimes I get slightly annoyed by their products because of how dry my lips feel after I apply it or after I remove the product from my lips. This Golden Cosmetics product doesn't do this to your lips and that's why I give it two thumbs up!

And those were all the products that I wanted to review to you from Golden Rose Cosmetics. If you're interested in purchasing any of the mentioned products or any other products, you can visit them at Beauty Cosmos in Fgura or if you'd like any assistance you can message the Golden Rose Cosmetics FB page.

I'll see you in my next post 😘

Love,
