Makeup Hits & Misses

Hi loves! I'm back with another blogpost 😄 Today's post is a collaboration with the lovely Alexandra from Lola.Lolita archives x. She will be sharing with you her 5 Summer Essentials (I will leave a couple of photos as a sneak peek!) so I suggest you go check out her post as soon as you're done from this one! You can keep up with her latest blogpost by joining the Facebook Group that she created, following her on Instagram or by pressing 'like' on her Facebook Page.

For my part of the collab I will be sharing with you 3 Makeup Misses and 3 Makeup Hits! I've seen this all over Youtube and I decided to give it a try. Basically, in this post I will be sharing you 3 products that I didn't have any expectations about them but I ended up loving so much as well as 3 products that I would personally not buy again. Just a small disclaimer: this is all my opinion and my personal liking so there isn't right or wrong in this! Without further ado, let's get into today's post 😁

I'm first starting by sharing with you the products I would not purchase again. The first is the Maybelline Instant Fatigue Blur. This product is suppose to make your skin look refreshed and revitalized and reduce the effect of tiredness. I tried a couple of times to try and see what this product is suppose to do but I never had any positive result out of it. To be honest I do not see anything different on my skin after I apply it and I honestly do not get the point of this product!

The second miss is the L.A. Girl Pro Conceal. A lot of youtubers use this product and use the colour correcting ones and although I do admit that it does conceal and that the fact that it was a shade a bit darker than what I normally use (which was totally my fault), I really did not like the tip of it. I don't know I guess I don't like concealers in this form so I would not re-purchase this!

The last miss is the Milani Lash Trifecta Mascara. It is supposed to lengthen, curl and separate your lashes. This mascara does lengthen and somewhat curls your lashes but I feel that it does not coat your lashes with the product as much as I would have want it and for the price that I had bought it I would prefer spending less and buying a Maybelline or Rimmel Mascara which is much better than this.

Onto the Hits! The first product is the Artdeco Most Wanted Smokey Eye Palette. From the packaging which I must admit it's quite poor I didn't have any high expectations of the palette. However, when I started using it I was actually surprised by the shades. Although not all of the shades are super pigmented there are 4 shades which I constantly use all the time which are super pigmented and I especially love the purple-toned ones. This palette is PERFECT for a smokey eye 💗

Another product that I was surprised with is the Wet n Wild Coverall Liquid Foundation. I had purchased this while I was in Switzerland and compared to all the over-priced makeup products that I saw this was SUPER inexpensive costing around €8. You can get this from Amazon so I will leave a link at the end of the post. This foundation although it looks like it will feel heavy on your face as it has quite a thick consistency, it feels super light and it blends perfectly. Plus it gives you great coverage so I highly recommend this!

The last beauty product that I believe is a hit in my opinion is the Essence Stay All Day 16hr Long Lasting Makeup. Just like its long name, this product helps with keeping your makeup where it should be for as long as 16hrs (lame joke I know haha!). I couldn't find the link to it online and I'm not sure whether it is still being sold as I purchased this quite a while ago but I love applying it on the areas where my foundation or concealer has the tendency to cake and it actually helps so much! Such an amazing product for such an affordable price!

So those are my Hits and Misses! I hope you enjoyed this post and don't forget to check Alexandra's post!

Take care and have a good week!

Love,
Deborah X

Review: Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser

Hi guys 💗 I'm back with yet another post! Today I will be reviewing the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser!

A couple of weeks ago Kezia (from Kezzie's Corner) and I won a giveaway which was held by Cetaphil Malta and we got a bunch of skin-care goodies. I posted a photo on Instagram with all the goodies! Therefore, today I thought it would be appropriate to talk about one of the most raved about products by this brand. Also, don't forget to check out Kezia's blog to see her review of this product!

Cetaphil is a line of skin care products including cleansers, bar soap, cream, lotion, and moisturizers. The brand makes products for people with sensitive, dry and/or acne-prone skin as an alternative to harsher types of soap. Cetaphil is highly used and known for its line of scent-free lotion and moisturizers. It is oil-free and can be applied to all types of skin because of its simplicity and non-harsh chemical build up.

I wanted to try this product to see whether or not it would be able to remove my makeup without making my eyes burn! It's actually perfect for that 💛 Apart from being able to remove your makeup so easily, including any eye makeup, it is perfect for cleaning the skin to remove any dirt or impurities.

This cleanser is suitable for those with sensitive skin or dry skin. It also says that it leaves your skin feeling so moisturized. You simply apply a small amount of the product on your face making sure you reach all your areas in your face and then rinse thoroughly and dry with a facecloth.

My skin felt super smooth right after I rinsed my face! Highly recommend it for those looking for an effective cleanser. It's also perfect to include it in your daily skin routine as it's super quick and super easy to use!

I would like to thank Cetaphil Malta for sending me these goodies to try out! I cannot wait to try the face mask I got in their skin-care kit (stay tuned for the review!)

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Love,

Deborah X

Tag Post - Sunshine Blogger Award

Hey there lovely people 🙋

Today's post is slightly different than usual. This is because I am doing a Tag Post. I was nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award by the lovely Caroline from Diva Inside.

The Sunshine Blogger Award is a nomination given to bloggers by bloggers. Members of the blogging community nominate others who they think are inspiring and bring sunshine into the lives of their readers (that's so sweet!!).

The Rules
1. Thank the person who nominated you, and post a link to their blog on your blog. (☝️️)
2. Answer the 11 questions your nominating blogger asked you. (👇)
3. Nominate other blogs and give them 11 questions to answer.
4. Notify your nominees.
5. List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post. ☀️

Without further ado let's get into answering the 11 questions - make sure you stay till the end of the post to see who I've nominated 😄

How would you describe your blog to someone who doesn’t know it?
My blog's focus is mainly on fashion and beauty so you'd find mostly blogposts such as Outfit Ideas or Lookbooks and various makeup looks or hauls and favourite beauty products! However, I do blog when I go on a vacation and I'm also thinking on starting a new 'series' on my blog where I can give my advice on various topics with the intention to help others from my experience such as how to deal with negativity and how to stay positive 💗

If you were offered an all expenses paid vacation to one destination in the world, where would it be and why?
Wow, that's a tough question! I LOVE to travel and I was going to say U.S.A and Canada but I think I would choose some place like Bora Bora, Mexico or Hawaii instead ❤!

Do you have a song that instantly makes you happy?
Well for those of you who might not know I am a huge One Direction fan (I'm a little kid I know!) and I actually went to see them live in Dublin, Ireland about 3 years ago. So I would say any song from any One Direction album 😍

How has blogging changed your life?
I've met so many wonderful people along the way, some that I've actually become quite close friends with and these people actually get you because they're as obssessed with makeup or beauty gurus or selfies just like I am so I feel like I found my people haha! Also, I've met and discovered so many brands and products through various events and product launches and I've been so blessed and lucky with everything that has happened ever since Distorted Priorities started last September!

Is there a place where you would love to live for a year?
To be quite honest with you, I think I will not be able to live for a whole year away from my family and friends because I spend most of my time with the people I love so I think I would honestly get homesick! But, if I were to pick a country I think it would be Germany - I love that place so much, the only drawback is that I don't know any German!

How do you overcome your fears?
Well it depends what kind of fears they are. I was actually talking to my best friend today about some of my fears and although sometimes I feel like I have to listen to my own advice more I believe that the best thing to do is to face it immediately and most importantly to stop thinking and overthinking about how you are going to overcome that fear because I believe that you worsen the situation and imagine things that can happen when in reality it's so much simpler!

What is your favorite blog/vlog-related memory?
I have quite a lot of beautiful memories but I think my top 2 would be my first bloggers' event that I attend which was the Melita Health and Beauty 45th Birthday Party for bloggers where I actually realised what this blogging community consisted of. The other blog-related memory would be Fashion Week because it was such an honour to be part of it and again I met so many wonderful people there!

What food could you not live without?
I would say pizza, pasta and meat haha! Well, basically all food and chocolate I could possibly imagine haha!

What is your favourite restuarant?
I think it would have to be Sciacca Grill in Valletta or Rexy in Mgarr Gozo, although it all depends on the type of food I'm craving.

What things are you most grateful for in your life?
I think I would rather pick people and memories rather than things that I'm grateful for in my life such as my parents, family and closest friends that I'm so blessed and lucky to have. Also, the numerous memories related to travelling that I have - this thing that I get to explore a new city everytime I go somewhere amazes me everytime I get on a plane and I love it so much 💕!

What is your personal motto?
Most definitely, ''Live your life to the full'' and ''Live life as if there is no tomorrow''. These quotes speak for themselves so I don't really need to add anything else honestly!

Time to pick my 11 bloggers to do this tag:
1. Kezia from KezziesCorner
2. Claire from Attaire
3. Thereseanne from Blonde on the Go
4. Abigail from Zeza's Things
6. Marija from Pocalocca Makeup Artist
7. Jade from As Told By Jade
8. Grazielle from Blog by Grazielle
9. Graziella from Glitter with Gloss
11. Rachel from Beauty and the Bird

P.S.: Don't forget to tag me once you post it so that I can see all of your replies!!

My questions for these 11 lovely ladies:
1. Why did you start blogging?
2. What is your blog all about?
3. What is your favourite thing to do when you want to spend some time on your own and relax?
4. Favourite city or country that you visited or would like to visit & why?
5. What inspires you to find a topic or a title to write a blogpost about?
6. What is your most treasured memory?
7. Favourite singer/band and why?
8. If you had to take 3 makeup products with you on a deserted island what would they be?!
9. What is the one thing you cannot live without?
10. How would you describe your clothing style and the way you dress?
11. Any advice you'd like to give to your readers or mottos you live by about life in general?

This was such a fun post and I hope these 11 beautiful ladies continue the tag so that we can spread a little bit of sunshine to others!

See you next time!

My Top 5 - Summer Lipsticks

Hi everyone! I'm finally back in action - I want to apologize for being MIA but exams sucked the life out of me 😭 I still have an exam left but it's actually in two weeks time so until then, I am going to kick off my summer blogposts (which I am so excited for). Lots of material, collabs and new stuff coming your way.

If you have any suggestions on blogposts you'd like to see or specific outfits/makeup looks do let me know right here!

Today, I decided to start a new series on the blog which I decided to call My Top 5 where basically I will be sharing with you my top 5 of different beauty or fashion items. Today's top 5 relate to lipsticks - so if you're a lipstick junkie like me and you need to know what colours you NEED this summer then keep on reading!

I picked my top 5 lipsticks all with different shades, however, in my opinion they all scream SUMMER 💗

The first one that I picked is my all time favourite (you've already heard me rave about it!) MUST-HAVE nude lipstick. This is the Ultra Matte Lipstick by ColourPop in the shade Chi. I've mentioned it in so many monthly favourites and I actually recently re-purchased it (yes, expect a ColourPop haul very soon!). It's the perfect shade of nude and I do believe that every girl should own a matte nude lipstick!

The second shade I picked is this vibrant purple shade. This is another Ultra Matte Lipstick by ColourPop called Zipper. I would pair this with a simple outfit to put the focus on the lips such as an all white outfit or a simple black dress 💜

My third pick would have to be this coral-orange shade by Gerard Cosmetics - this is their Hydra Matte Lipstick in Mercury Rising. I love their formula when it comes to matte lipsticks and although I was a bit hesitant when I first wore it I have to say I fell in love with it immediately!

This next lipstick is slightly different than the rest. This is because it is the ColourPop Matte X Lippie Stix in the shade Poppin. This shade is a gorgeous vibrant pink that had me head over heels over it!

My 5th and final summer shade is another one by ColourPop (yes, I love this brand!) and it's in the shade Ouiji. This is slightly similar to Mercury Rising although this is more of a pink-coral shade whilst the Gerard Cosmetics has more of an orange hue to it.

I will link all of the mentioned products down below and I will also leave my last ColourPop Haul & Swatches if you're interested in checking it out!

I will see you all very soon!

Love,
Deborah
